FF Cellar

The office at the top of the home page: posters, a desk lamp and the stair

Demo recreationbasement.studio’s site, rebuilt one to one by FF Dev Studio. The layout, type and motion are basement’s design. The 3D office and the words were made here. Not affiliated, and not their live site.

A studio site with its whole office in 3D behind the page, and a camera that walks to a new corner on every route.

About

One WebGL scene stays alive across the whole site. Home, Services, Showcase, People, Blog and Lab each move the camera to their own part of the office, the page scrolls up over it, and objects in the room are hotspots that open the page they stand for. There is a basketball hoop with real physics, too.

The office was modelled here in Blender from measurements of the reference, then its light baked in Cycles into eight texture atlases, so the room looks rendered while the browser draws it in real time. The layout, type scale and motion follow basement.studio’s design to the pixel. The copy was written here.
